• Bespoke Product: Any number plate manufactured to customer specifications including custom registrations, show plates, or personalised designs.
• DVLA: Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
• Road Legal Plate: A number plate manufactured to comply with all current DVLA regulations.
• Show Plate: A number plate made for off-road use only.
• RNPS: Register of Number Plate Suppliers maintained by the DVLA.
• V5C: Vehicle registration certificate (logbook).

1.2 Legal Compliance
Private Number Plate Maker LTD operates as a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier and must comply with all laws governing the manufacture of number plates in the UK. Customers acknowledge that non-compliance may result in penalties including fines and registration withdrawal.

2. Legal Obligations and Documentation Requirements

2.1 DVLA Compliance Requirements

We are legally required to verify your identity and your entitlement to the registration mark before producing any Road Legal Plates, under the Road Vehicles Regulations 2001.

2.2 Required Documentation

Proof of Identity (one required):

• UK Driving Licence
• UK Passport
• Bank or Building Society card
• Utility bill (dated within last 3 months)

Proof of Entitlement (one required):

• V5C logbook
• V5C/2 new keeper slip
• V778 retention document
• V750 certificate of entitlement
• Official DVLA entitlement letters

2.3 Document Submission and Verification

• Documents must be clear colour scans/photos.
• Production starts only after documents are verified.
• If documents are not submitted within 7 days or appear fraudulent, the order may be cancelled.
• We may request additional documentation.

2.4 Customer Acknowledgement

3. Show Plates and Off-Road Use

Show Plates are intended for off-road use only. Using them on public roads may result in fines, MOT failure, or vehicle seizure.

3.2 Customer Liability

Customers assume full liability for misuse. We accept no responsibility for legal penalties resulting from improper use.

3.3 Design Requirements

Show Plates may feature non-DVLA-compliant fonts or spacing. They will be labelled as"SHOW PLATE - NOT FOR ROAD USE".

4. Order Processing and Bespoke Products

4.1 Bespoke Nature

All number plates become bespoke once the registration is confirmed. Bespoke items are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period under UK law.

4.2 Order Accuracy

Products are manufactured exactly as entered by you. You are responsible for checking all details.

4.3 Product Representation

Images on the website are illustrative and may vary slightly due to monitor and material differences.

4.4 Amendments

Amendments must be requested within 2 hours. Changes are not guaranteed and may incur costs.

We may substitute materials of equal or superior quality if required.

6. Delivery, Returns and Refunds

Orders with verified documentation before 1pm are processed the same day.

• Show Plates: Standard or upgraded delivery

6.3 Returns Policy

Bespoke plates cannot be returned under any circumstances.

6.5 Cancellation Policy

Orders cancelled before production may be refunded minus £4.99 per plate. No cancellation after production begins.
